Trekking to base camp of Masagang

Blue poppy wildflower
Highlights

Same as the Laya Gasa trek, this route takes you from the sub-tropical Punakha valley of only 1,300 meters, up to the high Laya region of 4,000 meters, to the high Himalayan pastureland in the amphitheatre of stunning  Mount Masa Gang (7,200 meters), reaching the heart of Laya, a  remote region where women wear black yak-hair costumes and esoteric, conical bamboo hats. This trek provides for a fine taste of a variety of landscapes, remote villages, and grand panoramas of high Himalayan peaks,  with chances of spotting a musk deer, blue sheep or a Himalayan bear.
