Trekking Paro to Thimphu

Highlights

This is a popular five day trek which crosses the chain of mountains separating the Paro and Thimphu valleys. Although the route is sparsely inhabited, there are wonderful lakes teeming with trout, flowering rhododendron and wild flowers  in the spring, and  great views of the snow capped mountain during clear weather of late autumn.

 

Sample itinerary that can be customized:

 

Day 01: Arrive Paro

Day 02: Paro, daytrip to Tiger's Nest

Day 03: Paro to Jele Dzong (start trek)

Day 04: Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha

Day 05: Jangchulakha to Jimilangtsho

Day 06: Jimilangtsho to Simkota

Day 07: Simkota to Phajoding

Day 08: Phajoding to Thimphu (finish trek)

Day 09: Thimphu to Paro, depart Bhutan
