Punakha Dzong, Greatest Festival
Stage
|
|
|
 |
|
Highlights |
|
Punakha was the ancient capital of Bhutan and
its Dzong is architecturally one of its most
stunning structures (Dzong,
the fortress style of architecture of Bhutan.) With a number of important
temples, sprawling courtyards, set at a peaceful
confluence of two rivers, against a backdrop of
verdant hills, Punakha Dzong is a great stage
for a festival. Do not miss this wonderful,
festival in the scenic Punakha Valley! We can
design your tour so you see the festival opening day as
well as the closing festival events five days
later, while in between you'll visit Trongsa,
probably Bhutan's most stunning site for a
township, its Dzong perched high above a deep
gorge, a panorama that you'll remember forever. |
