Thimphu is the capital hence all Thimphu
festivals have important place in Bhutan's
religious events. This tour brings you the best
of Western Bhutan along with an excursion to
Punakha,
the ancient capital of Bhutan, possessing
architecturally the most impressive dzong in the
country. On the way back we visit the secluded
enchanting valley of
Phobjikha, then return back to the festival in
Thimphu. |

Itinerary: |
|
Day 1 |
The flight to Paro is a befitting introduction
to Bhutan and its untouched pristine wilderness.
Upon arrival our Bhutan team will meet you and transfer
to your hotel.
After lunch visit the National Museum of
Bhutan and Paro Dzong.
Dinner and overnight at
hotel. |

Day 2 |
Day Excursion to
Taktshang Monastery, literally known as
Tiger's Nest. Lunch at the Taktshang Cafeteria.
Dinner and overnight at hotel. |

Day 3 |
Morning you will hike to Kila Goenpa - a
nunnery. From there enjoy superb views in all directions
- the Haa Valley, Taktshang Goenpa, the Paro
valley. Lunch at hotel and after lunch you'll
continue to Thimphu - the capital of Bhutan. Dinner and
overnight at hotel. |

Day 4 |
Full day at the Thimphu Drupchen festival.
Overnight at hotel. |

Day 5 |
After breakfast, you will visit the National
Library. Next you will visit the Institute for
Zorig Chusum (Painting School), Traditional
Paper Factory. Return to hotel for lunch. After
lunch you will visit the Cheri Goenpa - a
monastery built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in
1620, and drop by to visit the festival again.
Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at
hotel. |

Day 6 |
After breakfast you will drive to Punakha, the
ancient capital of Bhutan. On a clear day
panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas can be
had, including Bhutan's highest mountain, Mt.
Gangkar Punsum (7550 m). Check in and lunch at
hotel. After lunch visit Wangdi Dzong and town,
then hike to Chimi Lhakhang. Return to hotel.
Dinner and overnight at hotel. |

Day 7
|

PUNAKHA-PHOBJIKHA
VALLEY-THIMPHU |
Continue
to
Gangtey
and
Phobjikha
village. Picnic lunch at the Phobjikha village.
Overnight at Hotel. |

Day 8 |
Morning back to the festival; lunch at the
hotel, then
you'll have an opportunity to shop for souvenirs,
late afternoon drive to Paro. Farewell dinner and
overnight at hotel in Paro. |

Day 9 |
After breakfast you will drive to Paro
International Airport for your onward
destination. Our Bhutan representative will
assist you with check in formalities and bid you
farewell. |
