It has always lured prospective tourists but traveling to far east meant having to retrace steps already taken and the dilemma rendered tours to be far longer than most tourists had time to travel. Then last year a new airport opened and things started to change. Accommodation options were also not up to par for years compared to the selection and quality in the west or in Bumthang. But that is starting to change as well. There is a new hotel in Trashigang called Lengkhar Lodge that opened just very recently and we think this will be the best lodging in Trashigang.
