Tiger’s Nest aka Taktsang Monastery Up to the View Point

Taktsang Monastery, better known as Tiger’s Nest, is in a way a symbol of Bhutan. Perched on a steep cliff high above the valley near Paro, it is one of the most spectacular sights in all of Bhutan. Tourists typically proceed only up the view point, hard enough of an uphill hike from the car park at the foot of the mountain for many. The clip shows the gradient of the trail and the views of the monastery as well as the valley below. At the view point there is a cafeteria offering refreshments as well as light meals. Beyond, the trail continues steeply up to the meditation retreats and from there to the goemba itself.
